The Montessori Method
The Montessori approach to music education focuses on hands-on experiences and self-directed learning to develop children's innate sense of rhythm, melody, and pitch.

Our Materials
True to the Montessori philosophy, our materials are real, beautiful instruments. They are made with natural elements to produce a high-quality, beautiful sound.
Beech Wood, Aluminum Bars —
Accurately tuned so that the child’s pitch awareness is being taught and reinforced in the subconscious. This happens as the child works and plays their way through our songs and pitch cards.
Just like language acquisition, a child learns music most naturally by sound first, and symbol later.
We encourage the child to sing and listen to the familiar songs, as they work their way through our song cards. We purposely sequence the songs so that the most natural singing intervals are introduced early.
The full range of the octave is incrementally introduced afterwards.
Our Notation
An adapted style of traditional musical notation, so that young children can read it based on self-directed intuition. They are introduced to concepts in traditional music notation in a gentle way.
Concepts of Pitch —
Are introduced through the use of color-coded notation. These 'color dots' are drawn on the lines and spaces of the adapted musical staff.
Rhythm Concepts —
Are intuitively guided by the physical length and size of the notes.
